Barricade tapes are used
in places where there is an equipment working failure, breakage of the
equipment, short circuit, electrocution, floor damage, etc. If any area is
barricaded using this tape it means no person should access the area until
further notice or instructions from the concerned operations personnel. This is
a signage to avoid any possible workplace hazards.
Barricade tapes are color
coded as per the OSHA regulations. Different color combinations are used for different
types of hazards.
Not only colors as
specified by OSHA, they are various shapes and signs, marking types, signal
words, safety symbols and languages used depending on the type of hazard.
These barricades can be
used in one, two or three panels for fast communication.
Only trained persons who
are assigned to do the task within the barricaded area should enter the area. All
groups working inside a barricade are responsible for maintaining the
barricaded area’s orderliness and housekeeping.
In a food catering industry
generally red- white barricade tapes are used which indicates the fire
prevention and protection equipment as specified by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration).
