The obvious danger of electricity
is an electrical shock, which results in serious injuries or can be even more
fatal. While working with electrical, safety should be the first priority. Educating
oneself on avoiding electric shock can help in keeping safe and prevent
dangerous accidents.
Here
are few tips to prevent from electrical hazards
- Always make sure
that the electrical appliances are kept away from water and moisture. If the
electrical appliance falls in water accidentally, do not retrieve it or unplug
it from the socket. Remove the appliance from water and dry it thoroughly, get
it evaluated with the electrician to understand whether the appliance can be
continued to use or not
- Make sure that the
right size circuit breakers and fuses are used. If the right size is not used
then they fail when it is needed.
- The wall plates
helps in protecting the fingers from making contact with the electrical wiring
behind the broken wall plates especially in the dark when trying to locate a
switch by touch.
- Power cords to be
tucked correctly and gently. Excessive pressure on power cables can damage
insulation or compress the conducting wire, which results in overheating and
will be at electrical fire risk.
